Terms of Service
Price Checks:
If you would like an estimate on how much a commission would cost, please feel to reach out!
If you're not sure how to ask, you can send the following:
"Hello! I'd like to check how much this commission might be.
It has these characters (link to refs), they would be drawn doing (description of idea) in (background, if applicable). This would be a (sketch/lined/etc.) commission."
This gives me enough information to get an idea of the workload. :)Wills and Won’ts:
Please heed the list of Wills and Won’ts. If what you want isn’t listed, please ask and I will give you a definitive answer. I won’t judge!
That said, I reserve the right to refuse a commission for any or no reason. If I don’t think that I’m capable of completing the commission, I can offer some other lovely artists I know.I do offer major adjustments at the sketch phase, and minor adjustments such as markings at the flat color stage, but if you are asking for an excessive number of adjustments I will start adding fees to cover the additional time taken communicating. I like to think I’m a reasonable person who’s easy to work with but even I have limits.Turnaround & Process:
I aim to have a turnaround of one week for icon and sketch commissions, and up to a month for larger pieces. I can give you a better estimate during the price check based on my current workload.
If your commission has a deadline, PLEASE PLEASE tell me in your initial message!!!Process Outline:
You reach out with your initial message, and I will respond to let you know if I can accept the commission, and how much it will cost.I am open to payment plans IF we have worked together before and you have been punctual with communications and payment.
I will not start work until at least half has been paid, and will not turn over finished work until the remaining balance is cleared.I send you a rough sketch to make sure I’ve got the right idea, at which point you can give feedback and ask for major changes to poses. Sometimes, if your piece is very complex, I will offer a few drafts for you to choose from.
I complete the piece at my pace. I may ask for your opinion and confirmation on details, and you may ask for an update at any time. I will usually check at the flat color stage to make sure I’ve got markings right.
Once the piece is complete and we are both happy, I will share the full image with you via a file sharing site.Refunds:
I will only offer refunds if I feel that I cannot complete the piece, or if there has been a misunderstanding regarding the nature of the piece. If this happens, I will return funds for any work that has not yet been done. I only offer full refunds at the draft stage, if it's clear that I am not the right person to complete the piece.Use of Completed Commissions:
For the most part, I don't mind what you do with the art once it's finished and turned over to you. However, I have a few boundaries:
- If you are planning to monetize the piece (for example, selling prints, using it for book covers, coloring books, etc.), please let me know at price check (or, if this is a piece already completed, please reach out to me first) so we can discuss royalties.
- Do not, under any circumstances, use my artwork to train Generative AI models.
- If you decide to repost my art somewhere (for example, social media posts), please credit me. (Appropriate credit: Art by shroomderg.bsky.social)Thank you for your time and consideration! I appreciate each and every person who reads and takes my ToS into account. <3
